LOCAL STORIES, BUZZ + AN EVENT ROUNDUP FOR THE 'BURBS
There’s something magical about watching fireworks light up the night sky. Every time I see a firework burst into color, I feel a mix of awe, joy, and calm. No matter how many times I watch, each show is a brand-new and captivating experience that creates a sense of wonder that pulls me out of the ordinary and into something spectacular.
I also enjoy the anticipation before the fireworks shoot into the air. Waiting and watching the initial trail of sparks let you know that a spectacular light show is about to begin. And then it happens— the first firework shoots into the sky, and you hear the first powerful boom followed by a cascade of colors that explode in brilliant flashes. Every burst is a moment of surprise, and each firework tells a story in its own way, and I find myself lost in those fleeting, and brilliant moments. The patterns, colors, and sounds are choreographed to stir emotion — from the delicate shimmer of silver fountains to the booming finale that fills the sky. READ MORE
Eagerly waiting for sparks to fly this summer,

The Longevity Movement Series Hormones Part 2: Testosterone
-By Michael Briggs
The second hormone featured in our Longevity Movement Series on Hormones is Testosterone—a topic that’s been generating a lot of buzz in our pharmacy, especially among women. As the conversation around aging and longevity evolves, more people are determined to stay active, strong, and vibrant for as long as possible. That drive for vitality is one of the key reasons testosterones is gaining so much interest.
In women, testosterone levels begin to decline in the ovaries during perimenopause, typically following the drop in progesterone. Like all hormones, testosterone is tasked with a variety of roles in the body. While its benefits to muscle tone, energy, mood, and libido are well known, its positive impacts on the brain, heart, bones, and immune system are just as important, albeit less tangible.
Since there are no FDA-approved, commercially available testosterone products specifically designed for women, compounding pharmacies are uniquely positioned to collaborate with healthcare providers to create personalized hormone replacement therapy options. These custom formulations allow for adjustments in dosage and delivery format to suit individual needs.
As with any hormone therapy, we strongly advocate for the use of bioidentical hormones, which are structurally identical to those naturally produced by the body. A personalized approach—guided by a thorough medical history, lab testing such as blood or saliva levels, and symptom tracking—offers the most effective and safe path forward.
Michael Briggs, PharmD, CNC, ICCT serves as COO of Lionville Natural Pharmacy and has been published in The Professional Guide to Complementary & Alternative Therapies, Complementary and Alternative Medicine for Older Adults. The Nursing Drug Handbook Series, and Pharmacotherapy.
Each spectacular show will have a different musical theme choreographed to the colorful dancing fountains and a thrilling fireworks show that will light up the night sky. Details
