Hi Neighbor!

I've been on the hunt for a very specific trellis for our garden. Not something I'd find at Home Depot or Home Goods. I'm picturing something old, a little weathered, maybe a bit quirky. Vintage, but not too vintage. I can't actually describe it, but I'll know it when I see it.

Of course, I could find something beautiful at Terrain, but where's the fun in that? I want to stumble upon it. Find it tucked in the corner of some dusty antique shop or leaning against a barn somewhere. I want a story to go along with it.

So lately, I've been putting some serious miles on my car in search of this elusive treasure. READ MORE

Weight Loss Peptides

Having jumped in with some peptide basics last month, it seems prudent to discuss the tremendous potential of the weight loss peptides currently being used by an ever-increasing number of patients, myself included. Let’s begin with some basics of terminology. We have all heard of GLP-1s, but terminology of GLP-2 & GLP-3 are beginning to emerge in the podcast and educational realm as well. The numbers quite simply refer to the number of pathways that the drug will act on. For example, semaglutide is known as a GLP-1 due to it working on only 1 pathway. Tirzepatide works on GIP & GLP-1 pathways and is considered a dual agonist peptide. And a newer peptide developed by Lilly works on 3 pathways to also include glucagon in addition to these 2 other pathways.

Science aside, these peptides have been a game changer for many of us who struggle with weight, blood sugar control, and sleep apnea. As data gathering continues to emerge, longer term prevention goals related to decreasing heart disease, dementia, and possibly even cancer rates will undoubtedly be discovered many years from now. Who knew a weekly shot or a daily pill would have such far reaching effects. While these are not side effect-free agents, most can be managed effectively with a knowledgeable healthcare practitioner and nutritional supplementation.

Lionville Natural Pharmacy is a trusted compounding pharmacy serving Chester County and the Philadelphia Main Line for over 40 years, offering custom medications, high-quality nutritional supplements, sports nutrition packages, and private consultations.
