After giving birth to a second child, Daphna Cardinale of California floated through the next few weeks in a hazy newborn bliss. She and her husband Alexander had spent three long, agonizing years trying to conceive again, eventually turning to IVF for help. Their miracle baby was not only beautiful, but also a champion sleeper and eater. Daphna was over the moon. There was just one problem: their baby did not look a thing like them. With each passing day, Daphna’s husband Alexander grew more concerned that the baby they swaddled, fed,and doted on day and night was not their genetic child.
