A few weeks ago I found myself among the shelves of Main Point Books in the center of Wayne during the annual Philly Book Crawl. With over 57 independent book stores participating both in the city and the suburbs, it was difficult to choose where to go and who to support. Three-year-old Frankie has all the classic, bright blue-eyed Siberian Husky qualities everyone loves: He’s smart but can be a clown and make you laugh; he’s a friendly, gentle soul, but can have a little too much enthusiasm at first! Snow-white Whisper is a small, young Jack Russell Terrier. Whisper finds a lot to be scary in the world and needs a supportive home to make her comfortable. She is easily startled and quick to try to escape. So, a home that avoids door-darting is on the checklist. She uses potty pads and appreciates her crate as a safe space.
