Hi Neighbor!
Okay, here’s a little secret: I once taught a dance exercise class in Wayne for maybe a year? It was called Dance Trance — a program my brother started years ago in Florida that grew legs and got licensed all over the world. A few years ago, he sold it to a young dancer who’d been one of the class’s biggest fans (and whose knees could still keep up — unlike my brother’s!).
For a short while, I found myself sashaying, ball-changing, and pirouetting in what used to be Club La Maison. Dance Trance was more challenging than a Zumba class, but not as intense as a full-on jazz or ballet class — the perfect sweet spot for me. I loved it. I’d spend hours at home practicing the routines so I could teach my small but loyal crew of “dance trancers” twice a week. Honestly, I was in the best shape of my life—and had the most fun doing it!
I miss dancing. These days, it seems like the only time I get to bust a move like that is at a wedding or while watching a live band, though I recently sprained my ankle ... READ MORE
Keep those dance moves alive — life’s too short not to!

Offcuts by Cat Russell
August 15th, 6 PM-9 PM
Colonna Contemporary, 4 Louella Ct, Wayne
A solo show by Appalachian multi-disciplinary artist, Cat Russell.
Colonna Contemporary is proud to present Offcuts, a solo exhibition by collage artist Cat Russell, opening August 15th at the gallery. The show brings together a new body of work built from the margins, the trimmings, the edges, the discarded pages that once lived other lives.
In an age dominated by speed, efficiency, and content churn, Offcuts offers a quiet act of defiance. Each work, constructed from scraps of old comics, Gustave Doré engravings, tagboard, and forgotten pages, is cut and assembled by hand, layer by layer. The result: narrative-driven scenes and dreamlike abstractions that honor process as much as outcome.
