👯‍♀️ Am I a Girl’s Girl?... on the Main Line

February 20, 2025

LOCAL STORIES, BUZZ & A CURATED EVENT ROUNDUP FOR THE 'BURBS

Hi Neighbor,

I’ve never felt like a “girl’s girl.”

My father raised my two older brothers and me in a house with little chit-chat or sharing. Although I’ve always desired close female relationships, I’ve never felt I quite fit in with larger groups of women. I’m not great at chitty-chatty. Growing up, I had many close friends and now cherish my female friendships. I crave these relationships and spending quality time with my girlfriends.

The past year, I took a few girl’s trips. One, a fall weekend in Ocean City, NJ, then a January day trip to New York City to visit the Morgan Library and see a show, and recently an annual trip to Colorado. These getaways offer more than just escaping the never-ending to-do list at home. They’re good for the soul.

The Longevity Movement Is Here: Power Trio Part 1

-By Michael Briggs

It’s no secret that age or aging for that matter, is being redefined. Many of us, me included, want to continue to function, exercise, perform at an optimal level for as long as we possibly can. As the 2024 Holidays passed and I entered my 5th decade of life, I remember how old my grandparents seemed at 50 compared to how I feel today. While this term may not be simply my own, the Longevity Movement or better stated, Optimal Longevity Movement is here to stay!

One Hallmark of the movement for me has always been nutritional supplementation and I can’t think of a better place to start given that is Heart Month than Magnesium. Often overlooked and always underutilized, Magnesium has approximately 300 different jobs in our bodies. From promoting normal heart rhythm and blood pressure to relaxing nerves & muscles, to energizing our often fatigued mitochondria & decreasing inflammation, it’s not short on tasks & effectiveness when supplemented in capsule or powder form. Form is also an important consideration as the effects of Magnesium Citrate will be very different from the effects of forms that cross into our brains like Glycinate or Threonate. As always it is best to find a knowledgeable healthcare professional when selecting the best Magnesium suited to your needs. Until we meet again to discuss Power Trio part 2,

Be well, healthy & happy!

Personal Care Living: Rediscover Independence! Most seniors who live in their homes consider themselves independent: they may drive to run errands for themselves, they engage in activities outside of their home, and they’re generally self-sufficient. But there might be small things holding you back from being truly independent and living your best life. Maybe driving at night is more difficult, it might take longer to get ready to go out, or cooking dinner is more overwhelming. Personal care...

When girls travel - either physically or through stories and digital experiences - they are exposed to different cultures, languages, and ways of life. This global exposure challenges traditional gender roles and stereotypes, especially in communities where girls’...
